What data is collected
Contact form submissions
When you submit a contact form, your name, email address, message, and any optional website URL or package selection are collected. The form is processed by a Netlify Function and delivered to IslandSEO .tech by email through Resend. The website does not add your enquiry to a CRM, mailing list, or marketing platform.
The contact form also processes basic technical metadata needed to deliver and protect the form: sender IP address, page URL or referrer, submission time, and a hidden anti-spam field. The IP address may be used temporarily for rate limiting.
Project information you send
If you describe a proposed project, website problem, technical setup, business situation, error message, or other awkward detail in the form, that information is treated as enquiry context. It is used to understand the request, reply to you, prepare a quote, or carry out agreed work. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, private customer data, admin logins, or anything that should really be handed over through a safer channel.
Analytics
This site uses Matomo Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool hosted at analytics.dnbhub.xyz. It collects anonymised page views, approximate location, coarse browser and device information, page URLs, link activity, and referral source. It is not used for advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking.
Matomo is configured to follow the CNIL consent-exemption restrictions for audience measurement. That means analytics are limited to understanding site use and technical performance, with privacy protections such as IP anonymisation, first-party cookies, restricted advertising and marketing features, and no personal identifiers sent through analytics. This also supports GDPR principles such as data minimisation, purpose limitation, and privacy by design.
The site also respects the browser "Do Not Track" setting for Matomo, even though that browser signal is now deprecated.
Analytics opt-out
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Netlify. When you visit the site or submit a form, Netlify processes ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, request time, and function logs needed to serve the site, keep it secure, and troubleshoot problems.
How data is used
Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your enquiry, understand the work requested, prepare a quote, and carry out agreed services. They are not used for unrelated marketing, sold to third parties, or shared beyond the services needed to receive and answer the message.
Analytics data is used to understand which pages are useful, where visitors come from, and how the site is performing. It is not used for advertising or profiling.
Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained for as long as the conversation or project is active, and then for a reasonable period for business records, follow-up, and dispute handling. The website does not store enquiries in a separate website database. Analytics data is retained for 13 months on a rolling basis.
Temporary anti-spam and rate-limiting data is kept only as long as needed to protect the contact form. Netlify and Resend may keep service logs or delivery records under their own retention practices.
Cookies
Matomo Analytics may set a first-party cookie to distinguish between visits. This cookie does not track you across other websites. No advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or marketing pixels are used.
Third parties
Netlify hosts the site and runs the contact form function under its own privacy policy. Resend delivers contact form emails under its own privacy policy. Matomo Analytics is self-hosted and used only for first-party site measurement.
No advertising network, third-party analytics platform, CRM, mailing-list provider, or social media pixel receives personal data from this website.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data held about you. To make a request, contact hello@islandseo.tech. Requests will be handled within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published here with a revised date. Continued use of this site after changes constitutes acceptance.
